Privacy

We process the name and email address used to create your account and the profile, entries, uploads, follows, appreciations, comments, age confirmation, reports, and member blocks you choose to create.

Account security

Passwords are stored only as salted, one-way hashes. Server-side session records and a secure browser cookie keep you signed in. Limited sign-in attempt records are retained to prevent abuse; the service never stores your password in readable form. One-time, expiring tokens support email verification and password recovery, and account emails are sent only for those operational purposes.

Public and private records

New entries are public by default, but require a final public-field confirmation. Public Gun Room profiles—including an uploaded profile picture—entries, photographs, documents, comments, and any contact details attached to a for-sale record can be viewed by visitors. Serial numbers are stored with a record but hidden from public visitors unless the owner explicitly publishes them. Private entries are available only to their owner.

No message relay

The Library does not collect or relay buyer inquiries. If an owner publishes an email address, phone number, or outside link, visitors use that route directly and outside the Library.

Control and moderation

Members can replace or remove their profile picture, remove their records and files, remove their own comments, report content, and hide other members. Reports and limited activity records are retained for safety, moderation, and abuse prevention.

Account deletion

Members can permanently delete their account from My Gun Room. This removes their profile, Library entries, community posts, comments, follows, account credentials, and the uploaded files attached to that material. The action cannot be undone.

Retention and recovery

Records are retained for operational, security, and legal needs. Replacing or removing a profile picture removes the prior image from active storage. Deleting an entry removes its attached media and community activity, while limited security or moderation records may be retained where necessary. Encrypted-in-transit production backups are retained for a limited recovery window and are not used to republish deleted material.
